The most common faults

The curtain no longer rises: tired compensation spring, broken strap or a motor at the end of its life.
The shutter jams halfway: a bent slat or a dirty rail slowing the descent.
The motor does not respond: worn capacitor, faulty wiring or misadjusted limit switch.
Unusual noise: warped axle or broken curtain fasteners.

What you can check yourself

Check the power supply, vacuum the rails clean, and see whether the curtain is properly aligned. Never keep pressing the control if the shutter resists: you could derail the curtain or burn out the motor.
