Reprogramming a Bubendorff Radio Roller Shutter: The Procedure

Bubendorff radio shutters (ID, Mono ID, Tradi ID ranges…) are driven by wall control points or remotes. After a long power cut or a transmitter change, reprogramming is sometimes required. The procedures rely on precise power sequences.

Re-pairing a control point

  1. Cut the shutter's power at the breaker for about 10 seconds.
  2. Restore power: you have a window of a few minutes while the receiver listens.
  3. On the control point, perform the sequence given in your generation's manual (usually successive presses on up or on the centre button).
  4. The shutter answers with a brief movement: the transmitter is registered.

Complete reset

If the shutter no longer responds to anything, the reset uses a rhythmic sequence of power cuts and restorations (of the order of a few seconds each, repeated three times depending on the model), followed by re-pairing. Respect the timings strictly: it is the rhythm that triggers programming mode.

Points to watch

  • Isolate the shutter being programmed: cut the others at the breaker to avoid cross-registration
  • Repeated grid micro-cuts: they can erase the memory — a surge protector shields the installation
  • A motor that clicks without moving: probably the capacitor, and no reprogramming will fix that
