Manually Releasing a Nice Gate and Checking Its Control Board

A Nice motorised gate that refuses to open should never leave you stranded. Every model has a manual release, and most faults can be diagnosed on the control board.

Switching the gate to manual

1. Insert the release key supplied (triangular or cylindrical depending on the model) into the motor housing.
2. Turn as shown on the cover, then pull the release lever: the carriage or rack is freed.
3. Move the gate by hand, without forcing, to the desired position.
4. To re-engage, put the lever back and send a command: the motor re-synchronises.

Checking a Robus or Road board after a fault

• Fuses: visually inspect the mains fuse and the low-voltage accessory fuse (broken filament); always replace with the same rating.
• Wiring: check the tightness of the power, aerial and photocell terminals – a loose wire is the most common fault after a storm.
• Diagnostic LED: the flashing sequence identifies the error (blocked photocells, motor overload, encoder); count the flashes and check the manual.
