Before handing your keys — literally — to a stranger, a few minutes investigating their reputation will spare you real trouble. Provided you know how to read reviews.
Where to look for useful reviews
- The Google Business listing: the volume and regularity of reviews matter more than the raw score
- Specialist platforms and craftsman directories that verify businesses
- Local groups (neighbourhood, town): neighbours' recommendations remain the most reliable
Spotting fake reviews
- A burst of 5-star reviews posted the same week with similar wording: likely staged
- Reviewer profiles with no history, who have only rated locksmiths across several cities
- Very generic reviews ("great service") with no mention of the job or the price
- Conversely, a detailed negative review answered factually by the craftsman is rather a good sign
Beyond the stars
Always cross-check reviews with the fundamentals: registration number, real address, an advertised free quote, indicative prices displayed. An excellent repairer spontaneously quotes a price range on the phone and is happy for you to call back after comparing.
At DRM, we encourage every customer to leave a review after the job — it is our best advertising and your best guarantee. Locksmith, metal shutter and roller shutter repair throughout Île-de-France, 24/7.
